During the “Martin Fourcade Nordic Festival”, the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup Organising Committee, represented by its President André Perrillat-Amédé (mayor of Grand-Bornand) and its Vice-President François Astorg (mayor of Annecy), unveiled the official poster for the next French stage of the World Cup, which will be held from 12 to 18 December at the Sylvie Becaert Stadium in Grand-Bornand.
The unveiling of the visual, which highlights Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet (first Frenchwoman in the 2021-22 World Cup general ranking, 5th), and Quentin Fillon-Maillet (first Frenchman in the 2021-22 World Cup general ranking, 1st), was also attended by the President of the French Ski Federation, Fabien Saguez, as well as representatives of the institutional partners (Antoine Dénériaz for the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region and Martial Saddier, President of the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council) and private partners (Craft, Technoalpin and Pistenbully) of the event. The International Biathlon Union (IBU) also took the opportunity to confirm the calendar for the French stage of the Biathlon World Cup (remember that Annecy-Le Grand-Bornand has been awarded the organisation of the event again in 2024 and 2025), and the programme of competitions for next December, as follows
– Thursday 15/12: men’s sprint
– Friday 16/12: women’s sprint
– Saturday 17/12: men’s and women’s pursuit
– Sunday 18/12: mass start men and women
During the press conference, André Perillat-Amédé, President of the Organising Committee and Martial Saddier, President of the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council signed the partnership and financing agreement for the organisation of the Biathlon World Cup in Grand-Bornand. The Haute-Savoie Departmental Council is reiterating its support for this sporting event by providing €100,000 in addition to the €70,000 provided by the Savoie Mont-Blanc Agency, co-chaired by Nicolas Rubin. The Agency is financed in equal parts by the two departments, Savoie and Haute-Savoie.
