We are delighted to announce that the official start of the French round of the Biathlon World Cup was given today, Monday 9 December 2024, by the IBU, the French Ski Federation and the Annecy – Le Grand-Bornand Biathlon Organising Committee. The competition will take place from 16 to 22 December in Le Grand-Bornand, with the loyal support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Haute-Savoie Department.

The Organising Committee, its 920 volunteers and all the local residents are ready to welcome the only French round of the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup. Having successfully organised five editions of the event since 2013, the Haute-Savoie village has established itself as a key venue on the international circuit.

In the run-up to the competition, all the teams, departments and service providers are working together with remarkable energy to ensure that this international competition runs smoothly, once again demonstrating the resort’s high standards when it comes to organising top-level cultural and sporting events.

Le Grand-Bornand is looking forward to welcoming some 60,000 spectators, including more than 3,500 schoolchildren, to the Sylvie Becaert stadium, where 300 athletes will perform, including members of the French team, who are in fine form at the start of the season.
