At home with the Sophie Chauveau fan club!
On her home ground, Sophie Chauveau is buoyed by the energy of her family and supporters, ready to thrill to every race.
The Grand-Bornand Ski Club and the Annecy Dragons on the slopes!
These promising young talents take to the track for their lap of honour, with the ambition, perhaps, of one day joining the ranks of these world biathletes!
The speakers take the floor!
The speakers are the undisputed pillars of the World Cup!
General rehearsal!
Live broadcasting of the Biathlon World Cup relies above all on the TV Test, an essential stage in ensuring that all the systems are working properly.
What a team! Thanks again to our volunteers!
60,000 spectators to welcome over 4 days: a challenge that we will rise to together, thanks to the commitment and invaluable support of our volunteers. We’d like to thank them all!
We’re putting the finishing touches to the champions’ playground!
Every day, the groomers fine-tune the site to guarantee the champions ideal playing conditions.
The accommodation providers are ready to welcome the teams!
Gym, special menus, every detail has been thought: the comfort of the 26 teams is at the heart of the priorities of the accommodation providers involved!
In the home stretch, things are hotting up!
Ticketing, shop, decorations, stadium, general organisation – it’s a busy time on all fronts!
Decoration and entertainment
Le Grand-Bornand will be decked out in the colours of the World Cup so that you can fully experience the event and the entertainment on offer in the heart of the village and along the spectator route.
Behind the scenes of volunteer management
Recruitment, planning, accommodation, catering, outfits… the volunteer management team takes great care of the 900 volunteers involved.
The stadium is taking shape!
Grandstands, shooting ranges, team area, TV platform,… the stadium, located in the heart of the village, is taking shape!
80% of the infrastructure will be dismantled at the end of the competition.
Join Jordan at the controls of his snow groomer.
He works with the stadium’s grooming and snowmaking team to prepare the competition track perfectly, so that the 300 biathletes taking part can perform in the best possible conditions in front of the 60,000 spectators expected!
Preparing for a competition track!
Just like any other high-level sports ground, ski slopes have to meet the same high quality standards and require the use of artificial snow or stored snow to guarantee stable snow conditions for all the events, to ensure the safety of the skiers and the fairness of the competitions. A competition slope takes preparation!
General meeting of volunteers
Annecy-Le Grand-Bornand has a stadium, athletes, organisation down to the last millimetre… and some 900 volunteers who are vital to the success of the unique French stage of the Biathlon World Cup.
Coming from the four corners of Haute-Savoie and sometimes even further afield, they too inject energy and motivation with one aim in mind: to provide the best possible welcome for the biathlon family and share an unforgettable human and sporting experience. More than 500 of them came together (face-to-face or by video) for the traditional general meeting of volunteers.
👉 0.8% is the contribution to the event’s carbon footprint of the manufacture, storage, transport and use of artificial snow
👉 Almost 50% of the snowmaking needs are stored or produced at the stadium
👉 30% less snow transported than in 2022
👉 Objective for the next edition: to become self-sufficient in snow production and storage at the stadium
